The Art of Bento

Photographs used with permission of the artist

Bento "is a single-portion takeout or home-packed meal common in Japanese cuisine. A traditional bento consists of rice, fish or meat, and one or more pickled or cooked vegetables as a side dish."
I came across these amazing photographs on flickr of a local bento artist Sakurako Kitsa whose creations are such a visual delight I'm not sure I could bring myself to eat them :) To see more of this creative artists fabulous photographs and food art, including her Wackyfun Food Art Time just click on the highlighted links.
