Yellow Springs Arts Council presents The Sunflower Show

The Sunflower Show
September 19th-October 11th
Reception September 27th 2-4 pm
We are throwing a joyous celebration of the sunflower field at Whitehall Farm!  This exhibition of paintings and photographs and mixed media is coordinated by Tecumseh Land Trust and will be hosted at The Yellow Springs Art Council Galley.

The show will be part of several other celebrations of TLT's 25th anniversary this year.
The Sunflower Show stemmed originally from one glorious day, full of sunflowers and many smiling people, of all ages, all painting in the sunflower fields. But it grew even bigger, for everyone loves the sunflowers.  TLT has since extended an invitation to the art community to make art , in any medium, inspired by sunflowers.
“In August of 2014 Tecumseh Land Trust hosted a "paint out" at Whitehall Farm  when the 10 acre sunflower field was in bloom.  The event that was open to the public."

"Sharon Neuhardt, who owns Whitehall Farm with her husband David, began planting sunflowers in their 10 acre field on Route 68 several years ago. Her motivation was simply to share these beautiful flowers with people in the area.  Her mission succeeded-people come from far and wide to photograph and paint the flowers.  Tecumseh Land Trust, with it's offices on Whitehall Farm, began a sunflower photo contest in 2012, that shares the beauty of the field even more broadly through their ever growing collection of photos."
"One way that TLT reaches out to the public is through arts, using writing, painting, and photography to capture the wonders of nature and through experiences of food and farm.  TLT is a non-profit membership organization that protects land in perpetuity with the help of volunteers and donors.  Cultivating the next generation of land stewards and leaders through education and outreach is essential to their mission."
