Phyllis’ Show
Photographs by Nance Parent
July 18th-August
10th
At the YSAC Community Gallery
Phyllis’ Show is a tribute show.
It’s a daughter’s loving response to a
mother’s wish.
Nance Parent’s photos are very personal and eclectic. While
focusing on taking photos of the mundane, ordinary, normal pieces of daily
life, she manages to make the ordinary sublime and the everyday intriguing.
“You should have a photography show,” her mother said to her
on more than one occasion. Nance’s mother passed away in January of 2012.
In honor of her mother’s request, this July, Nance is presenting
“Phyllis’ Show.“
“She was my biggest
fan. She encouraged my photography and insisted that I had a "unique
perspective" on the world. Unfortunately, I never had a photo
exhibit during her lifetime.”
This is Phyllis’ show.
