Ohio Same-Sex Marriage Update by Ed Mullen

Sunday, February 12, 2012
1 p.m.
Emporium Wines/Underdog Café
233 Xenia Avenue
Yellow Springs, OH

Lawyer and longtime political activist Ed Mullen, Executive Director of Equality Ohio, will give an update on current legislation concerning Ohio same-sex marriage, on Sunday, February 12 at 1 PM. Located at Emporium/Underdog Cafe, the free lecture is part of the Experience “Love-In” weekend sponsored by the Yellow Springs Arts Council.

Mullen will address the current status of Ohio law, options available for couples to help legitimize their commitments, and what steps are needed to bring equality marriage to our state. Prior to joining Equality Ohio, he was the Managing Attorney for Community Integration at Access Living (Chicago), where he litigated civil rights cases on behalf of thousands of people with disabilities, and advocated for legal and public policy changes at the local, state and national levels. He was also previously a partner at a national law firm, where he chaired the firm’s pro bono and community service committee. In private practice, Mullen has litigated pro bono on several LGBT cases.

Mullen is committed to making Equality Ohio a strong and respected advocate for the LGBT community and its allies throughout Ohio. For more information on Equality Ohio, visit www.equalityohio.org
