Will be hosted by musician and Mills Lawn School principal Matt Housh on
Sunday, February 12, from 3-5 PM
in a 2nd floor room above the Winds Cafe on Xenia Avenue.
Community members are welcome to share words, songs, poems, prayer, etc. that reflect personal thoughts, concerns or hopes about peace and/or love. Scheduled to appear are representatives from the local Quaker organization, Bashir Ahmed from the Dayton Peace Museum, and poets Maria and John Booth.
Attendees of the Open Mic can also visit the “John & Yoko Memorial Love-In” in the same location, which honors the couple’s 1969 non-violent events that protested war and promoted peace. John and Yoko will be portrayed by Antioch College students Adam Abraham and Maisie Taibbi.
Both activities are part of the Yellow Springs Experience Love-In, February 10-12, a weekend of arts and cultural activities coordinated by the Yellow Springs Arts Council. For more information, visit www.yellow-springs-experience.org.
