Pinot and popcorn at Little Art

On Saturday night, the Little Art Theatre presented a free screening of the 2004 California wine country road-trip movie, Sideways, in celebration of the nonprofit theatre acquiring a liquor license. Movie goers now will have the chance to balance a bucket of popcorn in one hand and a glass of pinot in the other.

I thought the idea of screening Sideways to celebrate the occasion was clever and playful. I appreciate owner Jenny Cowperthwaite-Ruka and the Little Art Board and all the many creative events and fundraising ideas they use to stay financially solvent. We are blessed to have a gem like this in a small town like ours. At the screening, Jenny said how important it is to the nonprofit movie theatre's financial well-being for people to become members.
