Nikki McClure exhibit features awe-inspiring detail

Photo from Saturday’s workshop with Herndon Gallery’s current exhibiting artist and papercutter, Nikki McClure (in gold coat on the right). Workshop participants went on a walk in the Glen, followed by a book-binding and drawing session in which they recorded the experience.

McClure’s iconic style of papercut has been featured on everything from snowboards and t-shirts to greeting cards and Microsoft advertisements. But the real magic in her work is only afforded to those who get a chance to view the originals. We are very lucky to have such a large exhibit of her work conveniently available where we can see her awe-inspiring detail in a way that the owners of her totebags and calendars will never know. Stop by during gallery hours for a magical experience.

Nikki McClure: Cutting Her Own Path, 1996-2011 can be viewed 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday-Saturday through February 15 in the Herndon Gallery on the Antioch College campus.
