On Sunday, November, 13, Yellow Springs author/illustrator Michael Fleishman will be interviewed by host Jerry Kenney on "WYSO Weekend" at 10:30 a.m. Click here to go to the WYSO website.
Fleishman’s new comic book, “Liars Club,” is currently on exhibit at a special venue with improved accessibility at 111 Corry Street. An Opening Reception, hosted by Yellow Springs Arts Council, was held on Veterans Day, November 11.
The month-long exhibit showcases the comic book and other works by Fleishman (pictured below in black sweater). On Friday, November 18, 6-9 PM, as part of Third Weekend Fling in the Springs, there will be another reception which will include an Artist Salon Talk with Fleishman and a screening of “Letters From Frank,” a documentary short by his wife, filmmaker Joanne Caputo, about her mother’s WWII love letter collection. The documentary short received a Juror’s Award from the Ohio State Fair Fine Arts Exhibition.
Copies of the comic book will be available for purchase for $5, with proceeds benefitting the Greene County Council on Aging. The “Liars Club” exhibit will be up through November 26; extended gallery hours are Saturdays, November 19 & 26, 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. For more information about the exhibit or to schedule a private viewing, contact the artist at 937-767-7955 or mfleishman@woh.rr.com.
