Jewelry-making workshop produces upcycled art

Dayton artist Catherine Wicks led a very fun and lively upcycled jewelry-making workshop at Springs Gallery on Saturday, November 5. Catherine provided participants with boxes of beads, chains, and charms she had collected and disassembled from donated jewelry along with instructions on how to use a jump ring, crimping bead, toggle clasp and more. The two-hour workshop went extremely fast with participants completely losing track of time, each of us lost in our own individual creations. I can't wait until the next workshop.

Kudos to Catherine and to Springs Gallery owner Christine Klinger for arranging the workshop.

Visit the Springs Gallery blog at springsgallery.blogspot.com for info on upcoming classes.
