Dance Piazza presents West African Drum and Dance


Sept. 3, 2011: Yellow Springs Dance Piazza featured West African Drum & Dance Ensemble Akwaaba from Columbus with director BabaaRitah Clark.






From June-September, every other Saturday from 7-8 p.m., Dance Piazza with "DJ JuJu" (Judith Wolert-Maldonado) features a different dance performer, encouraging audience participation through a brief demonstration. Then, from 8-10 p.m., DJ JuJu spins Latin dance tunes along with other World and American dance music including Afro-beat, Bhangra, Middle Eastern, club, old-school R&B, and more.

Dance Piazza takes place at the Art Park in Yellow Springs, corner of Dayton and Corry Streets. The last Dance Piazza of the season will take place Saturday, September 17 and feature Appalachian Clogging & Old Time Music with Rick Good (formerly of Rhythm in Shoes) & Friends.
