Calling historical fiction fans!

I love when two events in town are scheduled independent of one another but make for a great match.

First event:

Author Signing
Saturday, September 24, 11:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m.
The Winds Café, 215 Xenia Avenue, Yellow Springs, OH
Promises of the Heart and Seduction of a Bluestocking
By Scarlett Rains

Come meet and socialize with Scarlett Rains, author of the popular Sisters of the Heart Series. Books will be available at the event.

Guests encouraged to dress-up in period costume. Tea and biscuits will be served.

Second event:

"Writing historical fiction: pinnacles and pitfalls"

Lecture
When: Saturday, September 24, 2011
Time: 12:30 p.m.
Where: Antioch University Midwest, 900 Dayton St.

The historical fiction writer walks a fine literary line, balancing historic truths with the fictive imagination. Join author John Kachuba as he discusses the art of telling stories about the past. Learn why historical fiction is relevant to today’s readers.

This is a free event sponsored by the Robert Dizney Writing Center at Antioch University Midwest. For more information, email Denny at drussell@antioch.edu or call 937.769.1657.
