Artist Reception at Springs Gallery Friday, August 19
PAULA WILLMOT KRAUS EXHIBITS AT SPRINGS GALLERY
Springs Gallery in Yellow Springs is pleased to present the fine art of Dayton photographer Paula Willmot Kraus. Kraus will show her palladium, silver gelatin, and C-Print nature images. The exhibit runs August through October, with an artist reception on Friday, August 19, 2011, from 7 to 9 pm. Both the exhibit and the reception are free and open to the public.
In an excerpt from her artist statement, Kraus says: “For as long as I can remember I have loved the exploration of flowers. My attraction to them comes from an interest in the circadian rhythms of the woods and fields around me. Each spring’s arrival is heralded by the emergence of flowers. Watching delicate flowers such as Spring Beauties push up from the near-frozen ground followed by months of transition and finally summer’s end (punctuated by meadows of Goldenrod) – that has been the calendar that forms the rhythm of my life.”
Paula Willmot Kraus is a Dayton artist and educator, photographing professionally for more than 25 years. She began her career in photojournalism and moved into fine art photography, where she could begin to tell her own visual stories.

Kraus’ work is in many private and corporate collections as well. She has been awarded two Montgomery County Individual Artist Fellowships and one Ohio Arts Council Individual Artist Grant.
