Every Wed AM
for the month we will have an event at the library. All events begin when the library opens at 10:00 AM. The schedule is as follows:
Feb 3- meeting/ Stitch in
- the meeting is open to anyone. Meetings will always contain a Show and Tell segment. Members will also be working on our group project. Supplies will be available for interested parties to try their hand as well as handouts about the organization.
NOTICE:
"The Art of Annemieke Mien" has been rescheduled for Feb 17 Wed at 10Am
- We will show this video/DVD( we have both formats) about this Australian textile artist/embroiderer. We are targeting the local artists as well as the general public to view her amazing work. The presentation follows her through the creation of a large commissioned piece and goes into quite a bit of detail about her working methods. She is truly extraordinary. Two of our members also own her book and these will be on hand for perusal as well.
Light refreshments will be served afterwards.
Feb 17- Stitch In
Feb 24- Slide show of the Bayeux Tapestry. This historical embroidery commemorates the Battle of Hastings in 1066 in England and is an amazing piece of work. Two of our members had to copy a figure or scene as part of intensive course of embroidery from an English institution called City and Guilds. Both of these pieces will be available for perusal as well as 2 books about the making of the Bayeux tapestry.
Light refreshments will be served afterwards.
