Most
of the animals and plants in the show, which runs through April 5, are native
to our dear Glen Helen and include owls, herons, Sycamore, fox, deer, and more.
According to Penelope, “Creating art is a big part of my life—it’s my way of
appreciating the world. Through this show, I’m hoping to convey how beautiful
life is in the quiet of our own backyards.”
Penelope
began drawing before she could talk and began studying art by way of
scholarships for gifted children at the Springfield Museum of Art at age six.
Since then, she continued studying art throughout school and worked as an
illustrator for a time after graduating. This is Penelope’s seventh art show in
Yellow Springs.
