A new group started by Johanna Smith and Robyn Jingleheimer-Schmidt is now on fb and was started with the hope of giving local artists an easy way to post their art or crafts for sale. Membership in the group immediately started growing and within the first 24 hours we had over 100 members!
It was started after Robyn was on the Yellow Springs Virtual Yard Sale Facebook group and I found herself wishing we had a similar group for local artists to easily post their work for sale. "I asked on the YS Virtual Yard Sale group if anyone would be interested in a similar group for art and the response was astounding! With such an enthusiastic response, it was clear that this would fill a need."
This group is not only for artists but for anyone interested buying local art. Need a gift, or need to spice up your own space? Then this group is for you! The term “art” is used loosely on the group. It is not necessary to be a professional artist. Anyone doing creative arts or crafts are welcome. All media are welcome and so far we’ve had posts of paintings, photography, sculpture, clothing design, mosaics, pottery, and collage.
