FIND IT HERE Yes it's true, Yellow Springs IS an art town, overflowing with wonderful artists! Now is your opportunity to meet some of them. Spend a laid-back day in our delightful, quirky town or in the beautiful countryside discovering where the artists work and how they do it!

Yellow Springs area artists are invited to open their studios for visitors October 21st and 22nd, 2017 from 10 am-5 p.m. for the second annual Yellow Springs Open Studios.   Visitors will be guided on the free tour by an online or printed guide with a map, which will show the studios locations and descriptions of the work.  

Who may apply:  

Artists with a studio within a 3 1/2 mile radius - the Yellow Springs Train Station is the center of the radius. All displayed artwork must be original in design and produced by the artist applying.  Artists need to pay the listing fee and be a member of Arts Council.

Group studios may apply. The group studio must be within the 3 ½ mile radius.  Each artist in the group needs to apply individually, pay the listing fee and be a member of Arts Council.

Artists with studios may have Guest Artists .  Guest Artists must fill out a separate application, stating which studio they are a guest artist at, pay the listing fee and be a member of Arts Council.

No Dealers or Agents

Applications for artists are available on line at:  https://ysopenstudios.ysartscouncil.org/ 

Or paper applications for artists are available at: the YSAC Community Gallery, 111 Corry Street Wednesday-Sunday 1-4, (except during the week before 3rd Friday when we are closed due to hanging a new show)

And at the Chamber Office in the Yellow Springs Station.

Mail paper applications and checks made out to YSAC to:  Yellow Springs Arts Council, P.O. Box 459, Yellow Springs, Ohio, 45387

Participants pay a fee of $50.00 for a listing in the Yellow Springs Open Studios 2017 guide and the 2017 online listings at the event web site.  All participants must be current members of the Arts Council (or pay the annual membership of $30.00).  There is no commission on work sold during the event.

Deadline for applications is July 1st, 2017.

Have Afternoon Tea with the fashion gang

 and explore the vital importance of accessorizing your "look".

 From last year's highly popular Historical Clothing Series,

Deb Henderson, Bette Kelley, Bill White and Celise McKee

are coming back to talk about clothing accessories,

both historical and current.

Wear all the bling you want - hats, scarves, jewelry, gloves, belts, shoes, and jackets!

Sue Hawkey, our Tea Party Expert is hosting the scrumptious Afternoon Tea.

At the end of the Historical Clothing series last year, no one wanted it to end.  The participants insisted that there needed to be a Tea with everyone wearing their favorite clothes. They wanted more time with and more information from the clothing experts who had imbued the whole series with their high spirits and charm.

"Just a quick note to tell you how VERY much I enjoyed the Tuesday "workshop" at the Arts Council gallery.  I can imagine how much time and work went into developing the clothing displays and the talks -- they were terrific.  All of the presenters were so knowledgeable, informative and fun - the afternoon bubbled with the enthusiasm and love of each one's particular area of interest.  Looking forward to another Tuesday with you all."  Phyllis
