Third Weekend Fling in the Springs events

Third Weekend Fling and Holiday in the Springs Kick-off

Kick off the Holiday shopping season beginning Friday with ‘A Springs Illumination’ at 6 p.m. as we light up the Springs for the holidays. Stores will be open late on Friday night with special events:

Enjoy free horse-drawn wagon rides around town starting in front of the Little Art Theatre from 6 to 9 p.m.

Ohio Silver Co. (245 Xenia) and Asanda Imports (230 Xenia)
are each throwing an anniversary party where you can enjoy
refreshments and see some beautiful new gifts.
Friday night, 6-9 p.m.

There are several gallery openings including “would you, could you” In A Frame (113 Corry) which is featuring "works of clay for the heart and soul" by Lisa Wolters. Opening Reception Friday, 6-10 p.m.

Right next door at 111 Corry, the Yellow Springs Arts Council will be presenting the opening from 6-9 p.m. on Friday for “The Liar’s Club”, a graphic comic from Michael Fleishman celebrating World War II veterans. The opening will include an Artist Salon and short documentary by Michael's wife, Joanne Caputo, on World War II love letters.

Entertainment includes wine tasting and live blues from George Bieri & the Root Cellar Blues at The Emporium (233 Xenia) starting at 6:30, moving over to Peach’s Grill (104 Xenia) at 10 p.m. for The Ark Band.

Bettina Solas will be playing at Spirited Goat Coffeehouse (formerly Brother Bear's Coffeehouse), 118 Dayton Street, from 7-8 p.m. on Friday. Come out for a hot beverage and some soothing music.

See a movie at The Little Art Theatre ("The Way" with Martin Sheen and Emilio Estevez) or stop by Main Squeeze (229 Xenia) to taste and learn how to make home brewed beers.

The storytelling troupe, The Yellow Springs Tale Spinners, will perform a 15-minute short program on Friday at 6:30, 7:30 and 8:30 p.m. in the front courtyard of Sam & Eddie's Open Books (232 Xenia Avenue) if the weather is dry, and inside the gallery if it rains.

We will also be kicking off the Yellow Springs Gift Basket Giveaway on Friday night. For every $10.00 spent in participating stores, earn a chance to win a gift basket filled with amazing gifts from over 50 participating merchants.

Give the gift of art by stopping by the Glen Helen Nature Arts and Crafts Show at the Glen Helen Building. Hours are Saturday from 9 am to 5 pm and Sunday from 11 am to 5 pm. All downtown shops will also be open both days along with 15 eateries for a quick bite or leisurely lunch.
