Yellow Springs people in the NEWS. Ed Radtke has accepted an invitation to the Venice Film Festival for his film "The Speed of Light." Steve Bognar and Julia Reichert's documentary "A Lion in the House" has been nominated for a Prime time Emmy award.

Keep your fingers crossed for Jon Barlow Hudson (Hudson Sculpture). Jon is one of five finalists chosen out of 78 for a sculpture competition for a Vietnam Memorial.

Local Treasures
The Little Art Theatre. How many towns, let alone towns with a population of about 3,500 can boast of having an independently owned movie theater. It came to my attention that some visitors don't think it's open. It most certainly is, and if you click on the link you will see what movies are showing and when. ScreenPeace is coming up in August, and as always there is an art exhibit in the lobby.

NOLAA Gallery

King's Yard is always fun to walk through, not just because it's quaint, but it is full of interesting little shops. One of my favourites is the Nolaa gallery. The owner, Jennifer Float, has a flair for picking artists whose work is not only unique, but also daring in choices of media. I have never seen anyone use foam core the way Cynthai Vaught has, just amazing. This is a fun gallery to explore, with a great atmosphere. Jennifer is also an artist herself and has a painting on exhibit in the ChamberPot Gallery called "Garden Variety".
Gallery hours are: Wed-Thur noon-5:30pm Friday noon-7pm Sat noon - 5:30 Sun 12:30 - 5pm. For information call: 937.767.1544
